Bespoke furniture
A boardroom or conference table is one of the most technically demanding pieces the workshop builds. Length is set against the seat count; width against the across-table sight lines for video conferencing; cable management is integrated so power and data appear at every seat without visible cabling. Most boardroom tables are larger than freight can deliver assembled and are built in sections that join invisibly on site.
The workshop builds boardroom and conference tables for corporate offices, law firms, banks, members' clubs and trade-floor conference rooms. The engineering combines fine cabinetry with concealed cable runs, power-and-data box integration, and structural joins designed for site assembly. Most briefs fall within a handful of established forms.
The standard corporate form — a long, rectangular table 320–800 cm long, 120–160 cm wide, seating 12–30 around the perimeter. Power and data boxes are set flush into the top at every seat; cabling runs through the legs to a floor outlet. Veneer, leather or stone top with a hardwood or metalwork base.
The corners of a rectangular table softened into a continuous curve. Racetrack tables read as less aggressive than rectangular ones and give every seat a slightly better sight line across the table. Specified widely in legal and financial conference rooms.
Round tables for smaller conference rooms — typically 180–300 cm diameter, seating 8–15. Round form puts every seat at equal distance from the centre, which suits collaborative meetings. Split-round tables are round tables that hinge open at the centre to allow a presenter into the middle of the table.
Tables built from modular sections that join, separate and reconfigure for different uses. A single 10-seat boardroom can become two 5-seat meeting tables, or a 20-seat training table, by reconfiguring the modules. Joins are precision-machined so the reconfigured table reads as a single piece.
Marble, travertine or onyx tops on hardwood or metalwork bases. Stone tops give a corporate table a quiet presence and tolerate years of decanter and glassware contact without showing wear. The top is templated, the base is engineered for the load, and the top ships separately to be lifted into place on site.
Length is decided against the seat count: 70–75 cm per seat is the standard spacing. A 12-seat table runs 360 cm with one seat at each head; a 20-seat table runs 700 cm. Width is set against the across-table sight line and the room — wider than 160 cm makes video conferencing harder; narrower than 120 cm crowds the table.
Power and data integration is decided at the same time as the top. Most modern boardroom tables carry a power-and-data box every two seats, with a flush-mounted lid that closes when the box is not in use. Cabling runs through the legs to a floor outlet, which is specified to the site before fabrication starts.
Long tables (over 280 cm) are built in sections and joined on site. The joins are positioned in the cabling plan rather than at visible points; the seam runs under the power box lid or between the seats. Sections are crated and freighted separately; site assembly takes a day per join. Lead times run 16–22 weeks from approved drawings.
