Booth seating and high-backed fixed seating carve intimate rooms out of open plans. We make enclosed and semi-enclosed booths, curved booths and banquette runs with raised backs — cosy, hard-wearing leather banquette seating for restaurants and bars, or softer upholstered booths for members’ clubs and private dining. Every booth is made to measure from the architectural drawings, with seat pitch and table gaps set for real service.

In homes, a banquette turns an everyday corner into the most-used seat in the house:

• Kitchen and breakfast nooks – L-shaped and U-shaped banquettes that pair with Kitchens & Pantries joinery, often with lift-up storage under the seats.
• Bay windows and window seats – seats scribed to the architecture, with radiator grilles, drawers or simple closed storage below.

A banquette is a piece of structural joinery before it is a soft seat. We build frames in hardwood and high-grade ply, engineered for the spans and fixing conditions of each wall, with seat platforms designed for the specified foam, springing and upholstery build-up.

• Cushion strategy – fixed upholstered seats for crisp lines and daily service, or loose bench cushions where softness and easy cleaning matter.
• Upholstery interface – we coordinate directly with upholsterers, agreeing rail positions, pull lines and stitch details so panels meet the joinery cleanly and lift out for re-covering.
• Integrated services – power and USB outlets, lighting, ventilation grilles and access panels are planned into the carcass from the first drawing.
• Storage – lift-up seats, drawers and end cupboards make use of the volume a banquette encloses.
• Durability – kick plinths, protected edges and serviceable fixings are standard in hospitality settings.

Timbers, veneers, lacquers and metals are drawn from our Materials library and sampled against the upholstery selections before production.

Every banquette is finished to the designer’s material schedule. Seats and backs are hand-upholstered in leather, velvet, wool or contract textiles — plain, piped, fluted or deep-buttoned (tufted) — over high-density foam (6–15 PCF) rated for continuous commercial use. Fabrics and leathers are fire-treated to Crib 5 for hospitality, or fitted with an FR inter-liner where the chosen cloth cannot be treated directly, and can be matched exactly to existing furniture finishes.
