Liquid metal is a specialist coating that combines real metal powder — bronze, brass, copper, iron or aluminium — with a binder, applied directly to joinery, furniture or architectural surfaces. Once cured, the piece is burnished, patinated and sealed to replicate the appearance and texture of solid cast metal at a fraction of the weight.
The result is indistinguishable from traditional metalwork at close inspection. Liquid metal is particularly effective on large joinery panels, bar fronts, reception desks and architectural feature walls where solid metal would be impractical due to weight or cost.
Finishes are available in bronze, brass, copper, iron and aluminium, with oxidised and patinated variants of each. The degree of burnishing is controlled during application — from a bright, polished surface to a heavily aged, distressed finish. Like cast metal, the surface continues to develop character in use. Liquid metal can be applied to flat panels, curved surfaces and three-dimensional objects, and sits alongside solid metalwork within the same scheme.
