Bespoke Lighting
Make Bespoke Studio's heritage lighting collection draws on classical lamp and lantern forms, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lights and pendant clusters, reinterpreted in high-quality materials for contemporary schemes.
Designs reference Georgian, Victorian and Arts and Crafts periods. All pieces are manufactured to order, with full flexibility on scale, finish, wiring configuration and shade material.
Frame finishes include aged bronze, antique gold, polished nickel, verdigris and hand-painted in any colour. Shades are produced in linen, silk, parchment and pleated fabric, shaped to the fitting. Canopy plates, ceiling roses and wall plate configurations are specified to match the architectural detail of the room. All wiring is in fabric-covered braided cable, colour-matched to the fitting.
Heritage lighting is a discipline of restraint: getting the proportions, finishes and details of a period right, then engineering modern performance invisibly inside them. We make lanterns, wall lights, picture lights and chandeliers in the Georgian, Regency, Victorian and Art Deco vocabularies — for listed buildings, period homes and hospitality projects that trade on their history.
Most heritage work lives in brass. Antique brass lighting is less a colour than a process: the metal is aged chemically or by hand-relieving so highlights wear through exactly where a century of polishing would have put them. We work in polished, aged and lacquered brass, patinated bronze, and painted ironwork, matched to door furniture and metalwork elsewhere in the building — samples are approved as physical finishes, never from photographs.
Where a building retains original fixtures, we restore and rewire them to current regulations and replicate them to extend a set — a hall lantern copied for a new wing, a pair of wall lights becoming twelve. Replication starts from survey and pattern-making, and the new pieces are aged to sit beside the originals without announcing themselves.
Inside the period envelope sits current engineering: warm-dim LED sources that mimic candlelight and filament, concealed drivers, and compliance documentation for commercial settings.
