Make Bespoke Studio designs and manufactures bespoke furniture, joinery, lighting and flooring for residential and hospitality projects worldwide. The studio is at 4.13 Hardwick House, Waterfront Drive, Chelsea Harbour — the working hub for our design team, a meeting space for designers, architects and developers, and the operational base coordinating production across our manufacturing network. Founded by James Fiddy in 2021 after two decades working alongside London's leading interior design studios — 1508 London, Elicyon, Rigby & Rigby, SHH, Auberry, Janine Stone and others — the studio is built on a single principle: every commission deserves a maker who understands the brief as well as the designer who drew it. We work to designers' drawings, with designers' standards, on designers' timelines.
Manufacturing runs across a coordinated network of five specialist facilities — upholstery, woodwork, metalwork, spraywork and stone — with each commission routed to the right workshop for its discipline. Recent and ongoing commissions include 77 London (interiors by Concrete Amsterdam), full hospitality programmes across the wider Maybourne portfolio, contract work at The BoTree, Marylebone and LAVO London, and residential commissions in Mayfair, Knightsbridge, St James's, Chelsea and Holland Park. From a single statement piece to a full hotel fit-out, the approach is the same: drawings reviewed, materials specified, prototypes built where the brief warrants, then production scheduled against the project programme rather than the workshop diary. The studio works to interior designers, architects and developers — not direct to private clients except by designer referral. Every commission starts with the designer's drawings and the brief behind them. We don't impose a house style and we don't compete with the design team for the room. Trade enquiries.
Production runs across upholstery, woodwork, metalwork, spraywork and stone. Each commission is routed to the workshop that owns the discipline rather than treated as a single-pipeline job. Cross-discipline pieces — veneer cabinets with metalwork bases, upholstered chairs on bronze frames — are coordinated as one programme.
We work fluently across the full range of bespoke finishes: veneer, lacquer, stone, leather, fabric, metal finishes, shagreen and verre églomisé. Rather than working from renderings, we come to you to review finishes in person, going through the control samples you're matching to so specification is agreed in the room.
One project manager carries the commission from drawing approval through installation. Materials are sourced, samples signed off, prototypes built where the brief warrants, production scheduled against the opening date, and snagging closed before handover. The design team holds one number, not five.
The same benches build a single reading chair for a private house and a hundred dining chairs for a hotel restaurant. The difference is specification, not standard. Hospitality commissions are prototyped, tested in service and rolled out against the opening programme; residential is scheduled around them with lead times agreed at quotation and not extended without written notice.
