The material

Stone with natural character

Marble varies from slab to slab, shaped by the mineral content and geological conditions of each deposit. The colouring, veining and density of any given block are unique to its quarry and extraction depth. We select each block individually, matched to approved samples before cutting begins.

Stone is sourced from quarries in Italy for residential projects and Turkey for hospitality work. Italian marble from the Apuan Alps is characterised by high calcite purity and precise veining. Anatolian quarries yield a broader colour range — greens, golds, reds, creams and blacks — suited to large-scale feature surfaces.

Stone is used across furniture tops, vanity surfaces, kitchen worktops, bathrooms and architectural feature walls. Thicknesses run from 12 mm for inset furniture applications to 30 mm and above for structural surfaces and wall cladding. Edges are profiled to specification — flat, bullnose, chamfer, waterfall or custom — and polished to match the face finish.

Stonework is fabricated at specialist stone facilities and delivered pre-cut to tolerance. Slab selection against approved samples, cutting schedules and delivery sequencing are all coordinated directly. Where stone is combined with timber or metalwork in the same piece, dimensions are cross-referenced against joinery drawings before cutting begins.

The quarries

Extracted from
source

Italian marble quarries in the Apuan Alps have been worked continuously for centuries. Blocks are extracted using precision drilling and lifting equipment, each typically weighing between 15,000 and 25,000 pounds. These are transported to fabricators who cut them into slabs using industrial diamond-wire saws.

Turkey has been a stone-producing region for over 4,000 years. Natural stone has been quarried across Anatolia, producing a broad range of colours, patterns and structural qualities. Its variety of stone types makes it a primary source for high-volume hospitality stonework.

The preparation

Cut, polished,
finished by hand

Once blocks reach the fabrication facility, they are cut into slabs of the required thickness using large frame saws and high-pressure water cutting. Each slab is then profiled, edge-finished and polished to the specified surface quality, honed, polished, brushed or leather-textured, before being checked for colour consistency and veining match.

For furniture and joinery, stone is cut to precise tolerances and inlaid into timber, brass or lacquered substrates. We coordinate directly with the fabricator at every stage to ensure what arrives matches the approved sample.
