"The standard is set at the drawing stage. Everything after that is about holding it."

Quality control across our network is not delegated. The studio sets the specification, monitors production at each stage, and inspects the finished work before it leaves the workshop. The same protocols apply whether a piece is made in Sussex or Istanbul, by a team of eight or a team of two hundred.

Compliance is built into our manufacturing process, not applied after the fact. Certifications, chain of custody documentation and testing standards are maintained at the facility level and audited by the studio. When your client or procurement team asks for documentation, it is already in place.

01
Certifications

Standards held across the network

Each certification is held at the facility level and covers the production carried out there. The studio coordinates documentation and can provide chain of custody paperwork, test certificates and compliance declarations for any commission.

ISO 9001

Istanbul factory

Quality management system covering design review, production, inspection and dispatch. Externally audited and recertified annually.

FSC Chain of Custody

Istanbul · Lodz · Mid-Wales

Forest Stewardship Council certification tracking responsibly sourced timber from forest to finished piece. Verified chain of custody documentation available for every commission.

PEFC Chain of Custody

Lodz · Mid-Wales

Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. Complementary to FSC, covering additional sustainably managed forest sources across Europe.

EN 60598-1

Murano workshop

European safety standard for luminaires. Every chandelier and lighting piece produced in Murano meets formal European safety and electrical compliance requirements.

Made in Britain

West Midlands factory

Certified member of the Made in Britain organisation. Over 135 years of continuous lighting manufacture in the historic heart of British metalworking.

02
Quality control

Inspection at every stage

Quality control runs throughout production, not only at the end. Raw materials are inspected on arrival against the approved specification. In-process checks happen at each critical stage: after cutting, after machining, after assembly, after finishing. The final piece is signed off against a detailed quality schedule before it is wrapped, crated and dispatched.

Our Polish facility dry-fits every piece before dispatch, assembling the complete item to confirm fit, finish and function before it is broken down for shipping. This catches issues that cannot be detected by inspecting individual components.

Progress photography is shared at agreed milestones so you and your client can see the work as it develops. If an issue is identified, it is resolved before the piece moves to the next stage. Nothing ships until it passes.

03
Material traceability

From source to site

Timber sourced through FSC and PEFC certified supply chains carries full chain of custody documentation. We can provide species identification, origin certification and batch traceability for any timber used in a commission.

Metals are sourced from known suppliers with mill certificates available on request. Stone is sourced from identified quarries, including our Bergamo facility's own quarry for marble and travertine. Fabrics and leathers are specified by the design team and sourced from named suppliers whose provenance and environmental credentials are documented.

For projects with specific sustainability reporting requirements, BREEAM documentation, or ESG compliance needs, we can prepare material declarations covering the full bill of materials.

04
Testing and standards

Built to specification

Hospitality and commercial furniture is built to withstand daily use over many years. Frame construction, joint strength, fabric wear and finish durability are specified at the design stage and tested during production. We work to FIRA, BIFMA and BS EN standards as required by the project brief.

Lighting produced in our Murano and West Midlands facilities is wired, tested and certified to the appropriate national electrical standards. Bespoke colour temperatures, dimming specifications and finish treatments are agreed during the design process and documented for the electrical contractor.

Glass installations are toughened and certified to the appropriate UK and European standards. Structural metalwork is fabricated and tested to specification. We work with independent testing houses when third-party certification is required.

05
Documentation

The paperwork your client needs

We understand that specifiers and procurement teams need documentation, not assurances. For every commission, we can provide: material specifications and sourcing declarations, chain of custody certificates (FSC, PEFC), fire test certificates for fabrics and finishes, electrical safety certificates for lighting, finish and colour references, and care and maintenance instructions.

For hotel operators and commercial clients, we provide O&M manuals covering every piece in the commission. For projects with sustainability reporting requirements, we prepare environmental product declarations and material health statements as needed.
