Who we are
Make Bespoke Studio Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and through the enquiry and commission process. We are registered in England and Wales. Our studio is based in Chelsea Harbour, London.

What we collect
We collect only what is necessary. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Contact and enquiry data: name, email address, telephone number, company name, and the details of your project enquiry submitted through our contact form or directly by email.
- Commission and project data: specifications, drawings, correspondence and other materials exchanged during the design and production of a commission.
- Usage data: information about how visitors use this website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies, below).
- Communications: records of emails and messages exchanged with the studio.
- Studio concierge: if you use the chat assistant on this site, we keep the messages exchanged, the page you were on and the language, so we can improve the answers and follow up on enquiries. Conversations are held in private storage for 90 days and then deleted. We do not record your IP address, and a conversation is only connected to you if you give us your name and email in the chat.
We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health, financial account, or biometric information) and we do not collect data from children.
How we use it
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- Responding to enquiries and progressing commission conversations
- Managing the design, production and delivery of commissioned work
- Sending project-related correspondence and updates
- Meeting our legal and contractual obligations
- Improving our website and understanding how visitors use it
We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. We do not send marketing to private individuals without their consent. We do write to professionals at businesses about our trade service, as described in the next section.
Professional introductions
We may write to interior designers, architects, procurement teams and other professionals to introduce our trade service. We use business contact details that are publicly available, for example on a studio's own website, in a professional directory or from a business contact database. We hold only a name, business email address, job title, company name and where we found the details.
We do this on the basis of legitimate interests: we believe a relevant, professional introduction is of genuine interest to people in these roles, and that it has a limited effect on privacy. We write to business addresses only, not to private or personal email accounts.
Every message includes a simple way to opt out: reply “no thanks” and we will stop writing and keep your address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again. You can also ask us what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to our use of it at any time by emailing studio@makebespoke.com.
We keep these details for as long as they stay relevant, and for no more than 24 months after we last had contact with you, unless you become a client.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests: responding to enquiries and managing client relationships where we have a genuine business reason to do so, and introducing our trade service to professionals at businesses using publicly available business contact details.
- Contract: processing data necessary to carry out a commission once agreed.
- Legal obligation: retaining records as required by applicable law.
- Consent: where you have given it, for example when agreeing to receive updates from the studio.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal obligations. In practice:
- Enquiry data from projects that did not proceed: typically 12 months from last contact
- Commission and project records: typically 7 years from project completion, in line with standard commercial record-keeping requirements
- Financial records: as required by HMRC and applicable accounting legislation
- Business contacts we have written to who have not become clients: no more than 24 months from our last contact
When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We may share it with trusted service providers who support our operations, under strict confidentiality obligations:
- Cloud storage and project management tools used to manage commission files
- Email, communication and outreach platforms (some based outside the UK)
- Accountants and legal advisors where required
- Website analytics and marketing measurement providers
Where any provider is based outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR.
Cookies and privacy options
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are set automatically when you visit: they help the site work, show us how it is used, and help us measure and improve our marketing. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
- Essential: required for the site to work and to remember your privacy choices. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics and measurement: help us understand traffic, improve the site and measure our marketing. We use them to recognise a returning browser, not a named person. If you send us an enquiry, we link your earlier visits to your details so we can see how you found us.
You can turn the non-essential ones off at any time in our privacy options, or through your browser settings. Turning them off will not affect your use of the site or your ability to contact us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase your data in certain circumstances
- Restrict how we process your data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated where we hold your contact details. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last reviewed.
