“Joinery that survives a thousand check-ins and still looks considered.”

Hospitality joinery has to do many things at once. It needs to feel effortless for guests, work hard for staff, and stand up to years of use – all while expressing the character of a brand or property. At Make Bespoke Studio, we design and deliver bespoke joinery packages for hotels, members’ clubs, restaurants, bars, spas and amenity spaces.

In Detail

Where our hospitality joinery lives

We support a wide range of hospitality and mixed-use projects, often from early design stages through to installation and aftercare.

In many schemes we are involved across multiple areas at once, which allows us to keep language, materials and details consistent while tuning each space to its specific function.

Guestroom and suite joinery

Guestrooms and suites are where guests spend the most time, so the joinery needs to feel intuitive and generous without dominating. We typically design these elements as a single coordinated set under our dedicated

Hotel Guestroom Joinery offer:

These pieces often draw on ideas from Media Walls & TV Joinery, Wardrobes & Dressing Rooms and Fitted Storage & Alcove Units, adapted for the practicalities of housekeeping, fire strategy and repeated use.

Arrival, lobby and circulation spaces

First impressions are shaped by a handful of pieces: the reception desk, concierge points, feature walls and the way circulation spaces are framed. We treat these as a family under

Reception Desks & Lobby Joinery.

Architectural elements such as Wall Panelling & Architectural Joinery and Internal Doors & Screens often sit alongside more expressive pieces. We help you decide where joinery should quietly support the architecture and where it should carry a stronger design statement.

Bars, restaurants and club spaces

Bars and dining areas demand joinery that can handle real service while still feeling special. We design both front-of-house statements and the quieter working pieces behind them.

Our work in this area is covered in more depth under Hospitality Bars & Back Counters and Home Bars & Back Bars (for more intimate spaces), as well as Amenity & Members’ Club Joinery.

We coordinate closely with kitchen designers, bar consultants and M&E teams so that services, ventilation and access all disappear into the final composition.

Spa, wellness and changing areas

Wellness spaces combine high humidity, soft lighting and a need for calm order. Under Spa & Wellness Joinery we design lockers, vanities, treatment room storage and relaxation joinery that feels serene while working hard in the background.

Back-of-house spaces such as staff changing, housekeeping stores and plant-adjacent storage are treated within Locker Rooms & Back-of-House Joinery, ensuring the operational side of the building runs smoothly.

Amenity floors, members’ clubs and co-working

Mixed-use amenity floors and members’ clubs often bring together lounge seating, workspaces, dining, bars and meeting rooms in one fluid environment. Under Amenity & Members’ Club Joinery we help you build a consistent narrative across all of these spaces.

These projects often sit between our Hospitality Joinery and Residential Joinery thinking – delivering hotel-level amenity with the comfort and tactility of a private home.

Detailing, materials and durability

Hospitality joinery lives a busy life. We select materials and details that meet brand and design aspirations while standing up to real use – and repeated cleaning.

We draw on our Materials library to balance natural timbers, veneers, lacquers, stones, metals and specialist glass. Edges, corners and junctions are detailed to minimise wear, and where appropriate we strengthen high-contact points with metal trims or protective details.

Fire performance, moisture resistance and slip resistance (where joinery meets flooring) are built into conversations early so that compliance never feels like an afterthought.

Process, roll-outs and coordination

Our hospitality process mirrors the stages set out in our broader Bespoke Joinery overview, but with added emphasis on coordination, prototyping and repeatability.

  1. Brief & brand understanding We start by understanding brand guidelines, operator requirements and your concept narrative. This helps ensure every piece of joinery supports the broader story.
  2. Scoping and zoning Working with your drawings, we help define which areas require bespoke joinery, how they group into packages and where standardisation will help cost and programme.
  3. Technical design & integration We develop detailed drawings, coordinating with AV, M&E, kitchen designers and FF&E so that every visible face and hidden junction is considered.
  4. Prototypes, mock-ups and samples Key elements – for example a guestroom set or reception desk – are often prototyped or mocked up. We arrange samples and sample-room installations where helpful.
  5. Production and roll-out We manufacture through our network of workshops, selecting partners with the right capacity and capability for multi-room or multi-property roll-outs.
  6. Installation support and aftercare We coordinate deliveries, advise on installation sequencing and remain available for follow-on phases, refinements and future openings.

Connecting hospitality and residential joinery

Many of our hospitality clients also work on private residential projects, and we are often asked to carry a similar language across both. A members’ club might share DNA with a key client’s home; a hotel brand might want suites that feel more like apartments.

Our experience in both Hospitality Joinery and Residential Joinery allows us to tune details and materials so they feel appropriate in each context while remaining recognisably part of the same story.

Next steps

If you are developing a hospitality project and would like support on the joinery package, share your current drawings and any brand information with us. We can help scope which areas fall under bespoke joinery, suggest how they might group into coherent packages, and indicate how topics such as

Hotel Guestroom Joinery, Reception Desks & Lobby Joinery, Hospitality Bars & Back Counters, Amenity & Members’ Club Joinery and Spa & Wellness Joinery could support the narrative of the project. From there we move into detailed design, sampling and delivery in line with your programme.
