Pool deck furniture is the most specialised category in the outdoor catalogue. The combination of chlorine spray, intense direct sun, splash water from the pool, daily user contact in damp swimwear, and the high-volume use of a pool environment means standard outdoor specification often is not enough. Pool deck furniture is engineered explicitly for chlorine chemistry, UV exposure and rapid drying.
The workshop supplies pool decks for high-end residential pools, hotel and resort pools, members' clubs and private beach clubs. Material selection is led by chlorine and salt exposure. Teak and iroko hold up against chlorine but can spot-discolour from concentrated splash — sealed or oiled finishes are specified against the expected exposure. Powder-coated aluminium frames are more chlorine-tolerant and are the standard for indoor pool environments and for yacht installations.
Cushion fabrics are solution-dyed acrylic or similar performance cloths with explicit chlorine and bleach tolerance. Hotel pool decks usually carry replacement-cushion programmes — cushions are budgeted to be re-covered every 3–5 years against the wider deck operations programme. Fabric is specified at sample stage with the chlorine certification documents.
Pool deck furniture often ships in two phases: the fitted joinery and built-in pieces are installed during the deck construction, the freestanding loungers and dining sets are delivered after the pool fill. Lead times for the joinery elements run with the wider deck programme; freestanding pieces run 10–16 weeks from approved drawings.
