77 occupies the two basement levels beneath The BoTree Hotel in Marylebone. The 550-capacity venue opened in September 2025 with a split-level plan: a main dance floor at the lower level and an upper mezzanine carrying VIP tables with full sightlines to the floor. Interiors are by Concrete Amsterdam, working with the hotel team and operators Sebastian Banovic, Jonathan Wade and Eniz Hilmi to set a music-led identity around an L-Acoustics sound system and a Robe lighting and laser rig.
The design language reads as confident and stripped back: tubular forms in faux leather, exposed metal in the detailing, and PVD-finished handrails throughout. The brief was for furniture and finishes that would hold their composure at full occupancy, late at night, week in and week out, and would carry the weight of the architecture rather than disappear into it.
Our commission covered the banquette seating across both levels, the tubular faux-leather forms that wrap and edge it, the metal detailing on bases and trims, and the PVD-finished metal handrails that thread the venue. The brief was contract-grade throughout: every piece specified to perform under the demands of a busy nightclub while reading at close range as considered, made-to-order work.
77 takes its name from its address, 77 Welbeck Street, and occupies a double-height concrete shell two levels beneath The BoTree Hotel. Concrete Amsterdam kept the raw structure legible and set the two floors on an intentionally asymmetric plan, linked by a sculptural feature staircase, with the upper mezzanine carrying tiered VIP seating that looks down over the main floor.
Terrazzo flooring, black-stained oak and a ceiling grid of gold and silver metal fins give the rooms a dark, tactile register. An L-Acoustics system and a full-height video wall behind the DJ booth fold sound and image into the architecture, so the furniture had to hold its own in a room where everything else is working hard.
Our banquettes run across both levels: the tiered seating that lines the room and the tubular faux-leather forms that wrap and edge it. The upholstery is faux leather throughout, the usual choice for high-traffic hospitality where a leather look has to survive constant contact. It wipes clean, stands up to the wear of a 550-capacity room in nightly use, and keeps the specification economical at this scale.
Underneath the covers, the pieces are built to contract standard so they hold their shape and their comfort through a long service life. The tubular profiles were shaped to read as considered furniture at close range while carrying the weight of the surrounding architecture rather than receding into it.
The PVD-finished handrails thread the stairs and level changes throughout 77. PVD, or physical vapour deposition, bonds a coloured metal layer to a stainless substrate at the molecular level, producing a finish harder than chrome that resists the scratching, dulling and tarnish a busy nightlife venue inflicts on every handrail and edge. It was specified here over lacquered or plated alternatives because those are the surfaces that take the most contact and show wear the fastest.
The same metal detailing carries through the bases and trims of the seating, so the furniture and the balustrades read as one piece of work across both floors.
