Corniche

The Corniche is a landmark residential development on the South Bank of the Thames, designed by Foster + Partners, a mixed-use scheme of three towers that has become a defining presence on the Albert Embankment. Make Bespoke's partners contributed bespoke joinery and furniture to apartments within this prestigious development.

Working to the developer's premium specification, the studio produced fitted kitchen cabinetry, bedroom joinery and loose furniture pieces across multiple apartments. The quality of finish and material consistency demanded by a scheme of this calibre required rigorous production standards throughout.

The project called for strict programme discipline in line with the phased handover of apartments, with pieces delivered and installed to tight site-specific schedules without compromise to quality.

The Corniche is a mixed-use development of three landmark towers along the iconic Albert Embankment on the south bank of the River Thames, designed by Foster + Partners. Our partners produced a number of bespoke furniture pieces for this impressive penthouse apartment in London.

A penthouse at the top of a Foster + Partners scheme reads as architecture before it reads as interior — sightlines run uninterrupted across the floor plate, ceiling heights are tall and the river is visible from almost every position. Furniture brought into that envelope has to be sized and detailed to hold its own against the geometry rather than to soften it, with sharp profiles, deliberate proportions and finishes that catch the light at the same level as the floor and stone.

Pieces were produced in our partners’ London workshops and delivered on a phased schedule aligned with the building’s apartment handover, with site-specific installation windows agreed in advance. Dry-fit and finish sign-off were carried out at workshop stage so that nothing arriving at the apartment required rework on a programme that did not allow for it.
