The Langham, London
The Langham London, situated in the West End, is an architectural landmark that became Europe's first Grand Hotel upon its 1865 opening. The Wigmore, its contemporary modern British tavern designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, showcases bespoke lighting created as a partnership project. A striking 27-arm chandelier serves as the centerpiece, hand-cast in brass and finished in antique bronze by artisans at the London factory. The piece represents "a luxurious, contemporary interpretation of traditional London pub lighting."
Additional wall lights complement the installation, featuring handblown ribbed glass globes paired with individually cast and finished brass back plates. The design team emphasized their preference for bespoke lighting when "quality, design integrity and attention to detail are vital," noting that the project's significance required specialized craftsmanship and extensive expertise to achieve the desired results.
