The studio's lighting archive served as inspiration for the classic aesthetic that the design team sought to achieve. Skilled artisans employed diverse techniques to create and produce an array of remarkable chandeliers, along with restoration work on existing fixtures. The lighting installations welcome guests upon entry and enhance their passage through corridors, bar, private dining areas, and bedrooms.

Throughout, attention to detail is at the forefront of the guest experience from lighting for the bedrooms to bespoke chandeliers for the public areas.

Reference material from our partners’ extensive lighting archive provided inspiration for the classic elegance that Alberto Pinto’s designers were looking to achieve, and led to highly experienced artisans using a wide variety of skills to design and produce a range of truly stunning chandeliers, as well as restoring existing fittings. Our lighting greets guests as soon as they pass through the hotel’s doors and hangs above their heads as they journey along the majestic corridors and into the bar, private dining room and bedrooms.

A property at this tier carries a mixed lighting brief: some fittings are commissioned new to a Regency-period reference, others are existing nineteenth-century pieces that have to be sympathetically restored and re-wired to current standards. The work moves between disciplines — brass casting and chasing for new chandelier arms, gilding repair for existing fittings, and rewiring throughout to a hotel-grade specification — with each fitting documented before disassembly so that it can be returned to the same room in the same orientation.

New chandeliers were designed by our partners’ design team in response to the Pinto reference imagery, then sampled in arm-and-cup form before the full piece was committed to production. Existing fittings were stripped, the brass conserved or re-gilded as required, glass elements re-cut where damaged, and the wiring replaced to bring each fitting to current safety standard without disturbing its original appearance.
