120 Fenchurch Street, London
Perched on the 14th floor of 120 Fenchurch Street, 14 Hills represents a collaboration between Make Bespoke Studio and award-winning designer Robert Angell. As part of the D&D London restaurant group, the venue has become a favored destination for corporate dining and special occasions, offering panoramic views of Tower Bridge alongside a garden-inspired interior.
The design philosophy centered on creating a glamorous restaurant and bar that would merge British culinary traditions with French influences, all within a lush, biophilic environment. The space functions as an indoor forest filled with hundreds of plants and trees, designed to provide tranquility amid the bustling City. Large pergolas adorned with seasonal climbers help divide the restaurant into distinct zones while maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere.
Make Bespoke Studio contributed custom furniture solutions tailored to both aesthetic and functional requirements. Bespoke banquette seating upholstered in rich fabrics creates intimate dining experiences, while custom rattan chairs and leather barstools complement the overall scheme. The studio also crafted substantial joinery elements, including pergolas that support the botanical canopy. A notable architectural feature is the jesmonite dome covering the bar, draped with greenery to evoke an outdoor terrace sensation.
The restaurant accommodates 170 guests in the main dining area plus a feature bar, with a private dining room seating up to 20 for more exclusive gatherings. Head Chef John Barber directs a menu emphasizing seasonal British ingredients, creating a comprehensive dining experience that unites exceptional design with culinary excellence.
