Manufacturing — Mid-Wales
Our mid-Wales workshop is dedicated to contemporary marquetry. Founded in 2005, the workshop brings two decades of focused practice to the art of inlaid decoration in fine wood veneers and mother of pearl. All timber is sourced through FSC and PEFC certified supply chains, ensuring full chain of custody from forest to finished panel.
Work here is produced almost entirely by hand. Veneers are selected for grain, colour and figure, then cut with marquetry knives and assembled into compositions that range from geometric and abstract to figurative and pictorial. Mother of pearl inlay is set into the marquetry to lift the composition with a different material register, the lustre of shell against the warmth of timber. The workshop's range extends beyond architectural interiors: marquetry for luxury automotive commissions sits alongside panels for hospitality, residential and yacht projects.
The workshop produces marquetry panels for decorative wall and ceiling installations, table tops, door faces, cabinetry and standalone furniture pieces. Each commission is designed in dialogue between the studio, the design team and the lead marqueteur. The workshop's contemporary approach makes it possible to translate an intricate brief into a finished piece of furniture, architectural feature or vehicle interior.
