Mandarin Oriental Residences Beverly Hills occupies 9200 Wilshire Boulevard, moments from Rodeo Drive. Developed by SHVO, the building contains 54 condominium residences across seven floors, with six penthouse units above. There are no hotel rooms. Residents own on long-term terms with hotel-depth service throughout — dedicated staff, hotel-grade infrastructure, a purely residential building. Interiors were developed by 1508 London.
The amenity programme sets the register: a private porte-cochère, rooftop pool with cabanas, spa with steam and sauna, and Boulud Privé — Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud's in-residence dining concept, where residents can have restaurant-level food delivered to the apartment. Landscape design by Enzo Enea extends the interior language into terraces, courtyards and the rooftop deck, where planting frames views and screens more intimate seating. The restaurant itself was shaped by Marc Ange — curved banquettes, his signature palm-frond lighting, brass details and a neutral palette that reads as a calm, luminous salon.
Our studio was commissioned to deliver the complete bespoke furniture package for the show apartments. 1508 London's design language — wide-plank white oak, Taj Mahal quartzite, chalky neutrals and warm stones — set the register. The brief was to develop a suite of pieces that expressed that language precisely while meeting the demands of long-term residential use at this level of expectation. Our scope covered bedrooms, living and dining areas, study corners and transitional spaces: beds, upholstered headboards, desks, dressing tables, dining and occasional tables, fitted joinery and a family of chairs and lounge pieces. Every piece was scaled to the room, aligned to glazing and structure, and finished to sit within 1508 London's framework.

Beds are low and generous, with upholstered platforms and extended headboards that reach past the sleeping area to incorporate integrated bedside elements. Forms are radiused throughout — at corners, arms and edges — so that the pieces invite contact rather than just occupation. Wardrobes and fitted joinery use minimal fronts with carefully judged reveals, concealing generous hanging, drawers, luggage recesses and placed mirrors.
Desks and dressing tables are positioned to connect with light and view, often aligned with windows or terraces so that work and daily rituals remain grounded in the wider cityscape.
In the living and dining areas, the furniture supports everyday use and more formal entertaining within the same room. Sofas and armchairs are tailored with bespoke upholstery that balances crisp line work with genuine sitting comfort; occasional chairs provide flexible additional seating without dominating the room.
Coffee tables, console tables and dining pieces are treated like small architectural gestures, refined junctions, slender bases, finely matched veneers and selective use of stone. They echo key materials from the bespoke kitchens and bathrooms, helping to tie the whole apartment together as a continuous interior.
Each show residence is planned around its connection to private outdoor space. Furniture layouts draw the eye towards terraces and balconies, with interior pieces positioned to acknowledge the landscape and sky beyond the glass.
Bespoke upholstery was central to this project. Working from 1508 London's design intent, we developed headboards, chairs and lounge pieces within a soft, natural palette — chalky neutrals, warm greys, muted stones and subtle patterns that reveal themselves slowly.
We paid particular attention to comfort curves in arms and backs, the pitch of seats and the way cushions hold their shape over time. Residents may live with the same sofa or chair for many years — that longevity is what the specification is designed to support.
Timber grains are aligned and book-matched where appropriate. Metal trim is kept slim and precise. Each piece carries enough craft to be noticed at close range without announcing itself from across the room.
Turning 1508 London's concept into a furniture collection required close collaboration and a rigorous design process. We began with their designs and visualisations, then developed detailed manufacturing drawings, refining proportions, fixings, openings and upholstery details with each iteration.
Sampling allowed us to fine-tune the tactility of surfaces and the comfort of seating before any piece went into production. Installation and coordination on site were planned with the same precision, so that furniture aligned with lighting, services and architectural junctions as drawn. The result is a series of show residences that read as fully resolved from day one.
